The modern world is rife with "rule by force," a state of affairs that seems to strip away compassion for the vulnerable and the aspiration for justice. We ought to have learned from history the magnitude of the tragedies wrought by war. Japan, in particular, achieved economic growth and built a prosperous society upon the foundation of postwar peace. Yet, seemingly mirroring the tense global climate, the nation has once again begun to champion the goal of becoming a "stronger country."
What role can art play in such a context? As an artist, I sought to turn my gaze toward society without giving up, aiming to create works that allow viewers to engage proactively.

The exhibited work, *Turning Rocket Flames into a Bouquet*, was inspired by the exchanges of rocket launches frequently reported in the media. The flames―represented by rotating, glowing threads―transform into a "bouquet" as viewers themselves intertwine threads with them. Through this act of intervention, the work seeks to prompt individuals to reflect on what they themselves can do.
