comment Last year, I had the opportunity to participate in a group exhibition in Bali. The work, featuring wheels traveling back and forth along a rope stretched between trees, was themed around the movement and exchange between two friendly nations. Now, as the international situation veers off course, we find ourselves in an unstable state where the path toward cooperation and coexistence we once aimed for seems unclear. For this July's group exhibition, I created a work depicting wheels of various shapes and sizes barely maintaining balance as they traverse a rope, aiming to express this situation. It evokes images of small nations tossed about by the power dynamics of major powers, and countries skillfully maneuvering for their own interests. This time, I wanted to expand on this interactive concept, hoping visitors might reflect on the state of the international community while engaging with the work. One piece features a wheel balancing precariously on a rope stretched across a rotating ring. As the viewer spins the ring, the wheel wobbles and sways along the rope.
